Description
The Mammut Barryvox S2 is a compact, intuitive, and ultra-efficient avalanche transceiver. With a maximum range of 70 m and numerous advanced features, it ensures maximum safety in the mountains, even during the most complex rescue scenarios. Equipped with a 3-antenna digital receiver, the Barryvox S2 continuously checks its functionality through an ongoing self-test. The Rescue-SEND function and automatic transmission switching provide optimal protection during rescue operations. Its high-contrast MIP screen and vocal and sound guidance system offer clear instructions to efficiently direct rescuers to buried victims. The Mammut app allows you to update the device, configure settings, and practice avalanche search, providing comprehensive preparation for emergency situations.
What are the advantages of the Barryvox S2?
The Barryvox S2 stands out with various features, including its high-contrast MIP (Memory in Pixel) screen, which offers excellent readability in bright sunlight. While it has a digital search width of 70 m, it also benefits from an analogue function that uses algorithms for more efficient and precise searches, helping to resolve difficult situations. This Mammut transceiver can also manage interference, optimising its performance in the presence of other electronic devices. It boasts several functions:
- The Auto-Select function guides rescuers to the strongest or nearest signal in case of multiple burials.
- The SafeLock function prevents accidental activation of the Search mode.
- The Rescue-SEND function ensures the safety of the rescuer using the transceiver. If a second avalanche occurs and the rescuer is buried, their position is immediately sent to the transceivers of other rescuers on the surface, allowing them to begin searching for the buried rescuer immediately.
What to do in case of an avalanche?
To locate an avalanche victim, simply switch to receive mode. The Barryvox S2 provides precise guidance through vocal and sound indications and clear screen display. Once within 3 m of the victim, a fine search is initiated to pinpoint the location, followed by probing and shovelling to free the buried person. The interactive guidance and probe indications facilitate each phase of the search.
How does the Barryvox S2 work in multi-victim mode?
The Barryvox S2 uses the Auto-Select function to guide the searcher to the strongest or nearest signal, and the reverse direction function prevents 180-degree search errors. In case of deep burial, the fine search is automatically initiated earlier for precise guidance. The multi-victim mode allows marking and unmarking of detected victims, providing a clear overview of multiple burials.
