Description

The Cham HM series is widely inspired from the Cham series, but orients itself towards touring more than 'freeriding'. Indeed, with a fiberglass sandwich construction wrapping a paulownia woodcore, the ski gains forgiveness and lightweight. The skis feature (like in the Cham series) what they call the Levitation profile, which is the combination of a long progressive rocker (450mm) with a classic underfoot camber and a flat tail with reverse sidecuts. That makes them floaty and powerful like no other ski on the market. The Cham 97 HM has a better float than its little brother the 87, and shows real preferences for the deep snow. Its vertical sidewall and the Levitation profile allow the ski to grip hard enough on harder snow while delivering powerful performance. The real difference comes from its size, which explains why you will need to push harder on these legs if you wanna play with its turning radius on the hardpack.

What our testers say: This ski is all about pleasure. First off, it's incredibly light (1800g for 178cm) and feels absolutely perfect for touring. The ski loves slashing the untouched slopes covered of bottomless powder where it stays agile, reactive and efficient, even on short turns. A safe pick for advanced and expert riders.

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
