The Custom X is an enhanced evolution of Burton's iconic model, designed to tackle all challenges. Whether it's for speed, jumps, or challenging run, its carbon reinforcements meet the expectations of demanding riders.

What is the Burton Custom X snowboard made for?

The Custom X benefits from the versatility of the Custom's shape, a directional twin that is symmetrical from front to back, but with bindings slightly set back. This setup is intended to improve float in powder and turning manoeuvrability, while feeling in switch, ideal for freestyle. In terms of materials, it surpasses the Custom. The Custom X features a premium wood core for better weight/performance balance, reinforced with carbon fibres in addition to fibreglass, which increases power and torsional strength. The result is superior edge hold, more pop, and improved stability. Thanks to its pronounced camber, the Custom X is ready to carve on groomers, pick up speed, and take off on ollies.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
