Description

The Selecta has become a flagship in Volkl's lineup. A true standard for all freeriders out there. The board excels on powder and floats on it as if it was easy. Built with a powerful and light construction, the Salecta is made for going past the ropes. The pintail profile and the huge rockered nose offers tons of control through rough terrains with intuitive turn entries. From deep powder to chopped snow or chunky pow, the board bursts through it with a ridiculous ease and performs everywhere on the mountain.

 

What our testers say : This was a love at first ride. Ok, it's not the kind of board you can take out every day, it's designed for big conditions, when powder has been dumping all night long and snowcats haven't had the time to groom anything. Then, the Selecta rules. It delivers that lovely surfy feel on deep powder with a nice tail support. It's not as grippy as an alpine board on groomers, but it's so good on the ungroomed that we easily forgive it. It's a real freeride board recommended to all advanced and expert riders spending their time off piste.

Tips and advice

Size of your board?

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
