Description

Fourteen years. It's been fourteen years since the Black Snowboard of Death was first released in Capita's lineup. The board has grown up with the brand but has always had the same mission. Bring control and power to all riders willing to mount the beast. The board features a lively construction incorporating a Hover Core combining carbon and fiberglass and a Mountain FK profile with a traditional camber through the midsection, rockers through the tips and a subtle flat zone by the rear insert. That enhances manoeuverability and versatility, offering tons of control in the roughest conditions.

What our testers say : This is the kind of board that makes no difference between different terrains. Like when you ride full speed on deep powder and suddenly you see right in front of you a spot where thousands of skiers have been passing by. You know you better have a strong board if you want to go through without bailing. Well, with the Black Snowboard of Death, you barely feel the change. The board plows through it with a ridiculous ease and remains stable like a rock. It's a great freeride-oriented weapon that we recommend to advanced and expert riders.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
